What are custom DTF transfers?
Custom direct-to-film (DTF) transfers are full-color, ready-to-press heat transfers made by printing artwork onto film and applying a powdered adhesive. Position the transfer on a garment, press it with a heat press, peel the film, and repress. There is no vinyl cutting or weeding.
Should I order DTF transfers by size or upload a DTF gang sheet?
Order DTF transfers by size when each design needs its own finished width and quantity. Upload a DTF gang sheet when the full sheet is already arranged and print-ready, or use the Gang Sheet Builder to arrange multiple designs on one sheet.
Is there a minimum order for custom DTF transfers?
Order-by-size custom DTF transfers have no minimum quantity. Order one transfer for a single shirt or a test press, then use automatic volume discounts when you need more.
What file format and resolution should DTF artwork use?
DTFSheet accepts PNG, PDF, PSD, TIFF, AI, and SVG artwork. For crisp custom DTF printing, upload the design at its final print size, use 300 DPI when possible, and include a transparent background when the design requires one.
What heat press settings should I use for DTF transfers?
For DTFSheet transfers, press 100% cotton at 320°F for 8 seconds and polyester or blends at 280°F for 8 seconds with firm, even pressure. Peel warm or cold, then repress with parchment paper or a finishing sheet. Always test heat-sensitive garments first. See the DTF heat press guide for complete instructions.
What fabrics work with DTF heat transfers?
DTF heat transfers work on 100% cotton, polyester, cotton-poly blends, and many other common apparel fabrics. Because garments can react differently to heat and pressure, test unfamiliar, coated, or heat-sensitive materials before a full production run.
How long do DTF transfers last, and how should I wash them?
A properly pressed DTF transfer is made for repeated wear and washing. Wash the garment inside out in cold water, avoid bleach, and tumble dry on low or air dry. Do not iron directly over the printed design.
Do you offer same-day DTF transfer printing and shipping?
Qualifying DTF transfer orders placed before the daily cutoff are printed, quality-checked, and shipped the same day. The countdown at the top of the page shows the current order window, and the shipping method selected at checkout controls transit time.
