Each transfer prints your design with a silver reflective layer that sends light back toward where it came from. By day it reads soft and slightly silver. Hit it with a flash or headlights and it lights up. Every transfer in your order prints on silver reflective film.

Pressing
Press. Cool. Peel. Flash it.
Silver presses like the specialty films you know: steady heat, a full cool-down and a cold peel. Then grab a phone and see it light up.
- 01 Press at 310°F 12 seconds, medium to firm pressure. Heat press only.
- 02 Let it cool fully Hands off until it is cool to the touch. Thick prints can take a few minutes.
- 03 Peel cold Start at a corner, keep the film low and pull back in one smooth motion.
- 04 Flash it Phone flash on, take a photo. That is the look.
- Stay in range. Overpressing dulls the reflection, so stick to 310°F for 12 seconds.
- Cool means cool. The reflective layer sets as it cools. Let it fully cool before the film comes off.
- Seal the finish. Optional: press 5 to 10 seconds under a Teflon sheet.

What is a silver reflective DTF transfer?
A direct to film transfer printed at the size you choose, with a silver reflective layer. By day it reads soft and slightly silver. When direct light hits it, like headlights or a camera flash, it lights up. You press it on with a heat press.
How do I choose a size?
Small sizes, 2 to 4 inches, fit hats, left chest and sleeves. Mid sizes, 5 by 5 up to 11 by 5 inches, fit youth tees and text logos. Full sizes, 11 by 11 up to 12 by 17 inches, fit adult full front or back prints. Measure your blank and use the size guide above to see each size to scale.
Pre-cut or roll?
Pre-Cut: Ready to Press arrives with every transfer cut to its size, ready to peel and press. Roll (Uncut) arrives with your transfers together on the film so you trim them yourself. Same silver reflective film and print either way.
What does it look like in daylight?
Soft silver. Design colors read softer than on standard DTF, so bold 1 to 2 color art looks best day and night.
When does it light up?
When a light points at it: phone and camera flash, car headlights, bike lights. It shines brightest for whoever is right behind the light, like the camera behind the flash or the driver behind the headlights.
Is it safety gear?
It is a style effect made to stand out under light. It is not certified hi-vis safety gear. When a job calls for hi-vis, pair it with rated safety gear.
Which designs work best?
Bold 1 to 2 color designs, open letters, numbers and solid shapes. Light colors reflect the most. Use dark colors as outlines and contrast rather than the main area.
Which garments work?
Cotton, poly blends and polyester. Press a test piece first on water-repellent, silicone or coated fabrics, very stretchy Lycra and neon garments.
Do colors or design complexity change the price?
No. Pricing is based only on transfer size. A two color design costs the same as a one color logo at the same size. No setup fees and no color upcharges.
What files can I upload?
PNG with a transparent background, AI, SVG or PDF at 300 DPI work best. JPG, BMP and TIFF are also accepted. No mirroring needed, our printers handle orientation. If your upload needs attention, our team reviews it before production.
How do I press it?
Use a heat press at 310°F for 12 seconds with medium to firm pressure. Let it cool fully, then peel cold. Thick prints can take a few minutes to cool. For extra finish, press again for 5 to 10 seconds under a Teflon sheet. Settings vary by press, so test one piece first.
Can I use a household iron?
Use a heat press for silver reflective. It gives the even heat and steady pressure the reflective layer needs to bond.
How do I wash it?
Wait 24 hours before the first wash. Turn it inside out, wash cold with mild detergent and skip bleach and fabric softener, since both dull the reflective layer. Tumble dry low or hang dry.
What happens if something goes wrong with my order?
Contact DTFSheet with your order number, photos, and a description of the problem. Eligible transfer issues are reviewed case by case and may qualify for a reprint or refund under our published 60-day policy.
