How glow works
Soak up light. Give it back.
Each transfer prints your full color design with a clear glow coating over it. Light charges the coating, and when the room goes dark it gives that light back as a glow. Every transfer in your order prints on glow film.

Pressing
Press. Cool. Peel. Charge.
Glow presses like the specialty films you know: steady heat, a full cool-down and a cold peel. Then give it light and it is ready for the night.
- 01 Press at 310°F 15 seconds, medium to firm pressure. Heat press only.
- 02 Let it cool fully Hands off until it is cool to the touch.
- 03 Peel cold Start at a corner, keep the film low and pull back in one smooth motion.
- 04 Charge it Bright light or sun charges the glow. Then lights off.
- Cold peel keeps it whole. A full cool-down keeps the glow layer intact as the film comes off.
- Right heat, right time. Extra heat and time don't add glow, so stay at 310°F for 15 seconds.
- Seal the finish. Optional: press 5 to 10 seconds under a Teflon sheet.

What is a glow in the dark DTF transfer?
A direct to film transfer printed at the size you choose, with a clear glow coating over your full color design. It looks like a normal print by day and glows after soaking up light. You press it on with a heat press.
How do I choose a size?
Small sizes, 2 to 4 inches, fit hats, left chest and sleeves. Mid sizes, 5 by 5 up to 11 by 5 inches, fit youth tees and text logos. Full sizes, 11 by 11 up to 12 by 17 inches, fit adult full front or back prints. Measure your blank and use the size guide above to see each size to scale.
Pre-cut or roll?
Pre-Cut: Ready to Press arrives with every transfer cut to its size, ready to peel and press. Roll (Uncut) arrives with your transfers together on the film so you trim them yourself. Same glow film and print either way.
What does it look like in daylight?
Like a normal full color DTF print. The glow coating is clear, so your colors show as designed with the lights on.
How do I make it glow?
Give it light. Bright light or direct sun charges the glow, and when the lights go out the design lights up. The stronger the charge, the stronger the glow.
How long does it glow?
It glows brightest right after a strong charge and softens gradually in the dark. Any bright light charges it again, so it is ready for the next night.
Which designs glow best?
Designs with large light or white areas. Lighter parts of the design glow brightest, and dark colors glow less, so use dark tones for outlines and details and let the light areas carry the glow.
Does it work on dark shirts?
Glow is brightest on white and light colored garments, on cotton, blends and polyester. For dark garments, press a test piece first.
Do colors or design complexity change the price?
No. Pricing is based only on transfer size. A full color design costs the same as a one color logo at the same size. No setup fees and no color upcharges.
What files can I upload?
PNG with a transparent background, AI, SVG or PDF at 300 DPI work best. JPG, BMP and TIFF are also accepted. No mirroring needed, our printers handle orientation. If your upload needs attention, our team reviews it before production.
How do I press it?
Use a heat press at 310°F for 15 seconds with medium to firm pressure. Let it cool fully, then peel cold. For extra finish, press again for 5 to 10 seconds under a Teflon sheet. Settings vary by press, so test one piece first.
Can I use a household iron?
Use a heat press for glow. It gives the even heat and steady pressure the glow layer needs to bond.
How do I wash it?
Wait 24 hours before the first wash. Turn it inside out, wash cold with mild detergent, skip bleach and fabric softener, and tumble dry low or hang dry.
What happens if something goes wrong with my order?
Contact DTFSheet with your order number, photos, and a description of the problem. Eligible transfer issues are reviewed case by case and may qualify for a reprint or refund under our published 60-day policy.
