For the Bayou Classic between Southern and Grambling the Saturday after Thanksgiving, alumni chapters and families need matching shirts with the year on them, ordered a week ahead.
Krewe riders, ball committees and float builders need the year's theme on every shirt, ordered in January before parade weeks. Festival teams in Lafayette, New Orleans and Breaux Bridge and crawfish boil crews often mix sponsor logos, which fit on one gang sheet.
Refinery and petrochemical crews along the river parishes, port workers and hospital units need one logo in a full size run for safety milestones and turnaround kickoffs. Order the week before so a Friday arrival leaves room.
Church fairs, youth retreats, VBS and summer reunions often need a different name or year on each shirt. One gang sheet holds them all.
Carnival opens on January 6 and runs until Fat Tuesday, with the biggest parades packed into the final days.
